WHO WE ARE

The Mississippi Association of Health Plans is a nonprofit organization established to promote the interests of member health plans. The Association facilitates communication among members and with the healthcare industry on issues of common concern, and maintains contact with healthcare associations in other states and nationally. MAHP is a 501(c)(6) organization.

LEADERSHIP

The MAHP Board of Directors includes operating leaders from a wide range of Mississippi health plans and serves a diverse membership base reflecting the diversity of Mississippi's healthcare needs.   Our Board shares a common drive to use the tools of managed care to advance higher quality and lower cost healthcare.

MEMBERSHIP

MAHP members benefit from our expertise in advocating on healthcare issues before state policymakers. Blanketing the field of licensed healthcare service plans, membership helps businesses network with health plan leadership and those in affiliated fields.  MAHP offers a range of membership levels that best fit your organization’s needs.

COMMITTEES

LEGISLATIVE & REGULATORY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Studies and recommends positions on proposed legislation. Assists in education of state legislators on health benefits. Occasionally called to testify at legislative hearings or to assist with lobbying in support of MAHP positions.  Provides input on regulatory issues and coordinates responses on behalf of the industry.

COMMUNICATIONS & EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Works closely with MAHP staff to develop, plan and deliver high-quality educational events and meetings.   Provides direction for MAHP’s relationship with the public through the media as well as member communications. Oversees website and social media development.  Provides support for activities of other committees.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Recruits MAHP members and promotes membership renewal.  Makes recommendations on criteria formembership and dues structure.
